Relationships: Darkness or Light?

There was a man I knew and loved.

Yet confused I was about his love for me.  For when I thought I knew him, what I thought was not to be.

A good man, a kind man honest and true.  His heart was big, his path was his, his passion for life through and through.

Yet darkness reigned as sometimes is the case.  In the dark of night when life seems to become a waste.  And alcohol and drugs can release this demon to take ahold of the life that is believed to be.

And what is believed is no longer to be seen.

Instead the truth is replaced with lies of harshness and truth the darkness hides.  And when these demons are released, you see.  There is nowhere to go and no place to be except away…away and free.

Do not doubt yourself, do not fight or hide.  Escape to reality where the light is true inside.

For though he may be a man you still love, the light cannot fight the darkness below.

There was a man I knew and loved.  Now he rests with God above.  The demons won for this life at least.  And we may have lost in this love for a beast.  Yet the truth is that his soul was good, and it was only demons he had that understood, his life in trade for a life of good.
